Robert Downey Jr. on AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - "It’s The End! It’s Armageddon! It’s The Be All, End All, Forever!"

We all know that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be the most epic Marvel film to date. With Thanos on his mission of collecting all of the Infinity Stones, we know that there's a lot at stake... half the universe to be exact. After all, Thanos' plan to bring balance to the Universe is to destroy half of it.

Now Robert Downey Jr. is explaining what we can expect and it doesn't sound like Marvel is going to hold back. While talking to EW, he explained that the stakes are very, very real:

"Believe me, I’m tired of every movie, you know, 'It’s the end! It’s Armageddon! It’s the Be All, End All, Forever!' And then it’s … not. This one actually is. [Laughs] They’re not kidding. This is a heads-will-roll scenario."

There's no doubt that this is going to be a very emotional film for Marvel fans and nothing in the MCU is going to be the same after the story plays out. The screenwriters of the film already said, "It’s safe to say we will say farewell to people." Then Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige added:

“The notion of an ending, the notion of a finale, became very intriguing to us, in large part because you don’t see it that often in this particular genre."

We already knew that these next two Avengers films would bring an end to the MCU as we know it, but these comments from Downey Jr. and Feige really seem to drive the point home. It certainly sounds like Thanos will actually accomplish his mission by the end of Infinity War. I guess fans should start preparing themselves for the worst possible scenario.

Avengers: Infinity War will explode in theaters on April 27th. Will it end with Thanos snapping his fingers?
