Robert Downey Jr. Producing a Comic Book Series for Hulu Called SWEET TOOTH

The DC Vertigo comic book series Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lemire has been picked up by Hulu, and they have given it a pilot order. The project is being produced by Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey’s Team Downey, along with Hap and Leonard co-creator Jim Mickle, who will write and direct the pilot.

Sweet Tooth is the “coming-of-age fable of Gus, a boy/deer hybrid who leaves home to find the world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of hybrids and humans searching to find answers behind the event…ultimately discovering a vast conspiracy that forces him to question his very existence.”

Well, that certainly sounds like it’s going to be an interesting series! I’m not familiar with the comic, but I’m definitely interested in watching the show, especially with Team Downey involved.

Sweet Tooth is one of a few Vertigo properties that is being developed as a series on top of iZombie, Lucifer, and Preacher. There’s also a Survivors’ Club drama in development at The CW.

Does Sweet Tooth sound like a series that you might enjoy watching? If you’ve read the comic, is it good?
