Robert Downey Jr. Reprising Tony Stark Role in One of Two New Avengers Campus Attractions at California Adventure
During the Disney Parks panel at D23, a bunch of new rides and attractions were announced and Marvel’s Avengers Campus at California Adventure is finally getting two much-needed attractions.
Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro announced that the construction of these new attractions will start next year and they include Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab.
Avengers Infinity Defense will come first and it will center around the technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds. That tech has gone missing and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc.
Recruits on the ride will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside various Marvel heroes and guests might just find themselves face-to-face with King Thanos.
The next attraction, Stark Flight Lab, will see the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man. Yep, he’s coming back one more time before he steps into the role of Doctor Doom for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
On this ride, Tony Stark has a mission for eager recruits where you will sit in two-person pods and deploy to a test station. Then a robot arm grabs your pod and starts whirling you around in a simulated flight.
Also, Shanghai Disneyland is getting a new Spider-Man rollercoaster ride and Stark Expo at Hong Kong Disneyland will get an attraction featuring Stark Industries intern, Spider-Man.
