Robert Downey Jr. Tames and Charms in First TV Spot for DOLITTLE

We’ve got a fun new TV spot for Dolittle, a reimagining of the classic story of Dr. Dolittle, the children’s story that was published in 1920 about a doctor whose love of animals, and sudden ability to communicate with them, inspires him to become a veterinarian and embark on an adventurous life helping animals of all kind. Now, a century later, we are getting a new version starring Robert Downey Jr. as the doctor.

This film looks visually stunning and like an adventure the whole family will enjoy. Here’s the synopsis:

After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria's England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.

The doctor is joined on his quest by a young, self-appointed apprentice and a raucous coterie of animal friends, including an anxious gorilla (Oscar winner Rami Malek), an enthusiastic but bird-brained duck (Octavia Spencer), a bickering duo of a cynical ostrich (Kumail Nanjiani) and an upbeat polar bear (John Cena), and a headstrong parrot (Emma Thompson), who serves as Dolittle's most trusted advisor and confidante.

Check out the video below, and see Dolittle in theaters on January 17, 2020.
