Robert Downey Jr.'s Company Team Downey Teams With AppleTV+ for a New Series Titled THE STING

Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey’s production company, Team Downey, is developing a new series that has been picked up by the streaming service, AppleTV+. The show will be based on Michael Lista’s Toronto Life article, “The Sting.” Here’s the synopsis courtesy of Variety:

It follows a frustrated Canadian detective who takes on a decades-old cold case in hopes of winning a confession and becoming a hero. The case quickly spirals out of control when the undercover cop attempts an elaborate sting, adding playacting cops, taxpayer resources, and an unexpected friendship with the peculiar target.

The Downey’s will co-executive produce the series along with Lista and Amanda Burrell, who is currently working with Team Downey to produce the HBO series, Perry Mason. Adam Perlman (The Good Wife, Billions) is set to write the script.

This sounds like it could be a really good show, so I will be checking it out. How about you?
