Robert Kirkman's STEALTH Comic is Getting a Film Adaptation By Lee Daniels
Universal Pictures has teamed up with Skybound Entertainment to develop a movie adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s upcoming comic book series Stealth. The studio has also hired Lee Daniels (The Butler, Precious) to direct a film from a script that will be written by Iron Man scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby.
Since the comic book hasn’t even been released yet, I’m sure many of you don’t know what it’s about. So, here’s the synopsis:
For decades, Stealth has waged war on crime in Detroit, but now he’s taken his pursuit of justice too far. Only reporter Tony Barber knows that behind Stealth’s reckless behavior is an older man battling Alzheimer’s—his father. A father unwilling to accept that he’s no longer the hero this city needs… with enemies all too eager to force his retirement.
This sounds like a unique superhero story led by an incredibly interesting character who is having an internal and physical battle with himself and the state that he’s in.
The Walking Dead creator created the comic with Marc Silvestri, Mike Costa, artist Nate Bellegarde and Tamra Bonvillain and it will be launched under the Skybound/Image imprint on March 11, 2020.
