Robert Pattinson Reveals He Had a Meeting With Marvel Studios Prior To Being Cast as Batman
Robert Pattinson has had an interesting career. He got his big breaks with the Twilight film franchise, and while the fans of that franchise loved him, he was on everybody else’s shit list. However, once he was finished with the Twilight franchise he actually started taking on good and interesting movie roles. Many of them were lower budget independent film projects and it’s during this time where he really grew as an actor.
He’s now just starting to get back into big budget commercial films. On top of being cast as Batman, he’s also set to star in Christopher Nolan’s next film project Tenet. Before he got either of those roles though, he revealed that he met with Marvel Studios about a possible project.
He reveals that the meeting took place about the time of Guardians of the Galaxy, but nothing came of it. He doesn’t reveal what he was meeting for, all he said was:
“I don’t know what I would really be chasing. The idea of trying that transition after ‘Twilight,’ I never saw a road in that direction.”
As for why he decided that Batman was the comic book movie he wanted to be a part of, it’s because “he was the only comic book character Pattinson always loved. Pattinson said, “It’s actually an interesting part. I think it’s because he doesn’t have any superpowers.”
Are there any Marvel characters that you would have liked to see Pattinson play?
