Robert Rodriguez Is Directing a New Action Thriller Called HYPNOTIC

Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel) has jumped on board a new film project. He will direct an action thriller called called Hypnotic, which comes from writer Max Borenstein, who wrote the film Kong: Skull Island.

The story follows “a detective who becomes entangled in a mystery involving his missing daughter and a secret government program, while investigating a string of impossible high-end heists.”

Judging by what has been revealed about the film’s story, it doesn’t really seem like anything special, unique, or different. It’s a story that we’ve seen told several times before. But I hope that Rodriquez does something fun and different with it. Maybe he’ll give is some interesting twists and turns. Rodriguez is a hit and miss director for me. I loved what he did with Alita, though, and I hope that this next film of his ends up being a good one!

The filmmaker is in the process of casting the film, and the budget is said to be between $60 million and $80 million. The film is being produced by Studio 8 and Solstice Studios, and it’s set to shoot early next year.
