Robert Zemeckis Has Met With Warner Bros. About Directing THE FLASH
According to various reports, Robert Zemeckis, the director of Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, The Walk, and others has at least met with Warner Bros. about directing The Flash. Zemeckis is just one of many directors that the studio is meeting with to possibly direct the movie.
The rumor started at Screen Junkies with a video in which they say that Zemeckis is "in talks" to direct the movie. That claim was refuted by movie scoop guy Umberto Gonzalez, who said:
Not true. NOT in talks. He took a meeting and that is it. They're still meeting with other directors. https://t.co/I6jcXsmcVa

Even though he says the director isn't "in talks", he does confirm that the director has met with the studio. With the studio meeting with other directors, anyone could end up in the director's chair, but it's cool that they are looking at bringing someone on like Zemeckis!
I actually would love to see Zemeckis direct the flash. The guy is an incredible filmmaker and storyteller that makes wonderful, visually stimulating films. I think he could do some great things with The Flash, so he's got my support if that's who the studio chooses.
The Flash has already gone through two directors that consist of Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith (The LEGO Batman Movie writer). Zemeckis is definitely a step in the right direction. I'm interested to know who else the studio might be talking to.
Ezra Miller will star in the film and races into theaters on March 16, 2018.
