Roberto Orci Set to Direct STAR TREK 3
After a month of rumors and speculation, screenwriter Roberto Orci is officially set to direct Star Trek 3 for Paramount Pictures and Skydance productions.
Orci worked on the scripts for the first two movies and is currently writing the story for the third one with J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay.
As you know, Abrams was unable to direct Star Trek 3 because he's going to be way too busy with Star Wars: Episode VII. He will be a producer on the film, though.
There are no plot details on the movie yet, but Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, and the rest of the crew are expected to reprise their roles.
This will be Orci's first film, but he's obviously very familiar with the story and characters. I think he'll do a fine job bringing this third Star Trek film to the screen.
