ROCKETEER Star Billy Campbell Has Joined Disney's Animated Series THE ROCKETEER
As you may have heard, Disney is developing a new animated series for Disney Junior called The Rocketeer. The series is inspired by Dave Stevens' classic comic book, and the story follows a young girl named Kit who receives a surprise birthday package revealing she's next in line to become the Rocketeer.
Here’s the synopsis:
Seven-year-old aspiring pilot, Kit Secord, learns she’s next in line to become The Rocketeer, a rocket-pack wearing superhero who can fly! Armed with her cool new gear and secret identity, Kit takes to the skies to protect her town of Hughesville and its residents from danger. Assisting her on her heroic adventures are her best friend Tesh, bulldog sidekick Butch, and airplane mechanic grandfather, Ambrose Secord.
The series is meant for young kids and families, but if you’re a fan of the Joe Johnston-directed film, you’ll be happy to learn that Billy Campbell, who played the lead role in the film, has been cast in the series. He won't be reprising his role of Cliff Secord, but instead, he'll be voicing Dave Secord, the father of Kit, alongside Kathy Najimy as the voice of his wife Sareena Secord.
The Rocketeer will premiere on Friday, November 8, 2019, on Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and DisneyNOW. Here’s a previously released trailer.
