Ron Howard Directing His First Animated Film with THE SHRINKING OF TREEHORN For Netflix

Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind) is directing his first animated feature film, The Shrinking of Treehorn, based on the 1971 children’s book written by Florence Parry Heide, which was illustrated by Edward Gorey. The story, described as a musical set in New York City during the holidays, centers on Treehorn, a young boy who starts shrinking one day, even if his parents barely seem to notice.

Rob Lieber (Peter Rabbit) adapted the script for the project, which was first set up at Paramount back in 2019. Howard’s Imagine Entertainment is producing alongside Australia’s Animal Logic.

The film has been picked up by Netflix, and will probably hit the streamer in 2023. Have you read this story? Are you looking forward to the animated movie adaptation from Ron Howard?
