Ron Perlman Opens Up About Del Toro's "F**ked Up" HELLBOY III Story

Fans of Hellboy are really hoping that one day Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman will team back up to bring us Hellboy III. This would be the last film to close out the trilogy. Perlman has really been pushing hard to get it to happen, but there's still no solid indication that it will.

During an interview with Empire, Perlman opened up a little be more about Hellboy, and what we would see in a third movie if it happened.

"I really feel as though I'm done with the character. I don't have a burning desire to put that shit on again. But Guillermo told me what the resolve of the trilogy would look like, in broad strokes, and it's such an amazingly theatrical, cinematic idea, that I found it essential that we do it. We were designed to be a trilogy, with a beginning, a middle and an end. We've only done two-thirds, so I feel that we're not really done until we finish it."

I love that he's willing to go through "that shit" to bring Del Toro's vision of this third film to life. He went on to say that the director's big idea for the finale is "fucked-up," and added:

“Holy shit, he's the beast of the Apocalypse. He has to take down civilisation. He has to. It's non-negotiable. That's the foundation for the story, and that's why I think it would be a shame if we don't do it.”

My head is seriously reeling with excitement right now regarding the possibilities of what this third movie could actually be. Perlman went on to say that Hellboy's offspring would also play a major part in the story, saying:

"I'll tell you this. The two twins: one would look like the mum and one would look like the dad. And one of them was going to be completely fucking corrupt, the other one angelic. Which one was which? Only Guillermo would make the fucked-up-looking one be the angel. So then that adds to the saga."

OK, can a studio please make this film already?! Seriously, there's really no question about it now, this movie has to be made. I don't want this to end up as one of those "greatest movies that never happened" projects. This would be epic! I'm looking at you, Legendary Pictures!
