RUGRATS Nostalgia is part of Nickelodeon's Plan for Paramount+

ViacomCBS is putting a bit of faith into the new Rugrats revival coming to Paramount+. The revival series features CG-animation and the original voice actors of the babies. Rugrats centers on some baby and toddler best friends going on all kinds of adventures. Talking about bringing the series back, Brian Robbins of Nickelodeon said:

It’s an enormous responsibility. It’s such a beloved franchise. We have a lot of the original creative team back including the voice cast of all the babies. That’s exciting and that’s a giant stamp of approval.

Robbins also believes that Rugrats nostalgia will help bring parents who grew up on the original series as well as their children to Paramount+. This makes a lot of sense considering other new series being announced recently like the Spongebob Squarepants spin-off series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years and The Patrick Star Show. I’m sure that we can expect plenty more revivals and spin-offs being announced in the near future. What’s next, Rocket Power? Danny Phantom?

Joining the original cast of Rugrats, Nancy Cartwright, Cheryl Chase, E.G. Daily, Kath Soucie, and Cree Summer are Ashley Rae Spillers and Tommy Dewey as Tommy’s parents; Tony Hale as Chuckie’s father; Natalie Morales as Phil and Lil’s mother; Anna Chlumsky and Timothy Simons as Angelica’s parents; Nicole Byer and Omar Miller as Susie’s parents; and Michael McKean as Grandpa Lou Pickles. Fans will be able to watch Rugrats this spring on Paramount+.
