Rumor Claims Ariana Grande Was Heavily Considered for Live-Action Disney Role

Ariana Grande has had a great year professionally, proving herself as an actress in the Wicked films and reminding moviegoers that her incredible voice was what landed her on the map to begin with.

This makes it unsurprising that a new rumor claims Grande was heavily considered by Disney for a live-action princess role that sadly, eventually fizzled out.

According to scooper MyTimeToShineHello (via SuperHeroHype), Grande was previously being considered to play Rapunzel in the live-action Tangled movie that has gone in and out of development; however, Disney reportedly “felt she was too old.”

This is just a rumor, but it makes sense. She would be amazing in this role, especially with all the music, but the animated version of the character is a teenager, so it would be logical to assume that the studio would look to a younger actress for the role.

We will just have to see who ends up in the part if Disney ever moves forward with the adaptation.
