Marvel Pushing Back BLACK WIDOW's Release Will Reportedly Not Impact MCU Timeline

Black Widow has joined the rest of Hollywood in shutting things down and waiting for things to get back to normal before solidifying release dates and production schedules again. But as we all know, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is so interwoven that this delay strikes some concern with fans.

The fact that this movie is a prequel that follows a timeline between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame helps, because that means it probably won’t impact much of what happens past Endgame and Natasha’s untimely demise. But you never know with the MCU! There could be something set up in this movie that could play into the next films! So if things get pushed out of sequence, and Black Widow gets released after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, or Eternals, will this mean the timeline is messed up for viewers?

In a recent report from Variety, we learn that a source “close to Marvel Studios” told them that the pushing back of Black Widow “affects nothing on the MCU timeline.” While it’s still not clear whether the movie will have any plot lines that will factor into Phase Four, it looks like there isn’t anything that will be so consequential that it will grind the whole Universe to a stand-still.

It’s too bad these movies and series can’t just release straight to Disney+ while we are all on lockdown! Fans sure would appreciate it!
