Rumor Has It DC Wants Lady Gaga To Play Either Black Canary or Huntress in BIRDS OF PREY

According to a new rumor that originated at SuperBroMovies, who has a decent track record when it comes to DC movie news, Warner Bros. and DC have offered Lady Gaga two roles in the upcoming Birds of Prey movie. They want her to play either Black Canary or Huntress.

Apparently, she turned down an offer they made her three months ago but according to the report, the studio isn’t giving up on her and they've made another offer with a lot more money involved.

Lady Gaga recently starred in WB's upcoming film A Star is Born, and I assume they liked her performance so much that they thought she would be the perfect fit for one of these characters in Birds of Prey.

Again, this is just a rumor at the moment, but if it is true, let us know which character between Huntress and Black Canary you think would suit her best. Personally, I'd go with Black Canary.

The movie is being developed by Margot Robbie, director Cathy Yan and writer Christina Hodson (Bumblebee). It's being developed as an R-rated film that Robbie previously described as a "girl gang film". She explained;

"I pitched the idea of an R-rated girl gang film including Harley, because I was like, ‘Harley needs friends.’ Harley loves interacting with people, so don’t ever make her do a standalone film. She’s got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang. I wasn’t seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space. So that was always a big part of it."

This is the rumored plot synopsis that found its way online:

After splitting up with The Joker, Harley Quinn and three other female superheroes – Black Canary, Huntress and Renee Montoya – come together to save the life of a little girl (Cassandra Cain) from an evil crime lord."

And here's a breakdown of the characters that will be in the film in case you need a little refresher:

Black Canary, aka Dinah Laurel, is a fantastic hand-to-hand combatant who comes from a family of crime fighters. Her father, Larry Lance, was a police officer, while her mother (also named Dinah) was the original Black Canary.
Helena Bertinelli, aka Huntress, is a vigilante operating out of Gotham City.
Cassandra Cain is one of the world’s greatest martial artists, and also a vigilante who becomes Batgirl.
Renee Montoya is a detective working for the Gotham City Police Department. Montoya is openly lesbian, and during The New 52 comics she takes on a costumed identity, becoming the Question.

It was reported earlier this month that WB had a shortlist of actresses they wanted to cast in the film that included Vanessa Kirby, Alexandra Daddario, and Blake Lively.
