Hayden Christensen Has Reportedly Signed on to Disney+ Series KENOBI in Major Role
According to a new report from lrmonline, a source close to the outlet says that Hayden Christensen has been cast in the upcoming Kenobi series that’s headed to Disney+. The actor will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker in what will be a regular role on the series.
The studio was hoping to announce this information at this year’s Star Wars Celebration, but as we know, the convention was canceled and has been postponed until 2022. The report claims that the role was first negotiated as a cameo in the series, but with “growing love of the prequel trilogy and the popularity of The Clone Wars, the role of Anakin has become a bigger part of the Kenobi storyline.”
Production on the series is set to begin early in 2021, with Ewan McGregor reprising his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul, American Gods, The Mandalorian) will direct the series, as well as serve as showrunner, with Hossein Amini (Drive, McMafia) and Joby Harold (Awake, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) writing.
