SNL Alum Sasheer Zamata Will Reportedly Play Sorceress Jennifer Kale in Marvel's AGATHA: COVEN OF CHAOS
A new rumor has been released by Mashable that previously announced cast member Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur) will be playing the role of sorceress Jennifer Kale in Marvel Studios‘ upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos. The character was first introduced in 1972 by Steven Gerber and Rich Buckler through Marvel’s Man-Thing comic book series. In the comics, Kale hailed from a family of sorcerers who are part of the Cult of Zhered-Na. Besides Man-Thing, she had partnerships with different Marvel characters including Howard the Duck and Doctor Strange, as well as affiliations with the Midnight Sons and Legion of Night.
The show will follow the character Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn from WandaVision, and she is joined by co-stars Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata, and Patti LuPone, as well as David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman, and Kate Forbes. They join Deborah Jo Rupp and Emma Caufield, who are also returning cast members. The show also stars newcomers Joe Locke, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.
This is a rumor for now, but a cool one that we will confirm when possible. Agatha: Coven of Chaos doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but we will keep you posted.
