Rumor: Marvel's ETERNALS Will be Partially Shot on 16mm Ektachrome Film
There are a lot of things that are just interesting about Marvel’s Eternals movies. They are going into the unknown again with fans. Marvel did it once with Guardians of the Galaxy and it was a wild success. It seems that Marvel is continuing on their unconventional path with the Eternals.
Guardian film critic Charles Bramesco tweeted after the Eternals panel at San Diego Comic-con, where he was able to talk to Eternals director Chloe Zhao, and he gleaned some interesting information from her:
Film is definitely going to be interesting for a Marvel film. The shots are going to be pure and naturally beautiful due to the lack of CGI. Which is going to be freaking amazing because any special effects that are done on film are going to be all practical. This is going to make things super interesting considering the scope of the movie. I mean, there are going to be freaking Celestials in the movie. Granted, the whole movie is not going to be shot on film but it is going bring a whole new element to the MCU. I can’t wait to see what she does with this movie. She is obviously a brave film maker just for taking on such an unknown Marvel property, but she is going to do it her way.
Eternals is set to hit theaters November 6th, 2020, and will star Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lia McHugh as Sprite and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.
Do you think this will bring a cool new element to the film?
