Rumored Cast List For SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Includes Some Surprising Reveals
The Marvel movies coming out this year are pretty high stakes, and they are very highly anticipated by the fans, so the studio has been doing its best to keep details under wraps.
We have had several cast reveals for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as well as the first of the upcoming Avengers movies, but most news coming from geek outlets is based in rumor at this point. The most recent one we have to offer is pretty interesting though.
What we know for sure about the film is that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton is taking on the film, and Tom Holland is returning to reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Other confirmed cast members include Zendaya as Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and Marvin Jones III. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink, The Bear’s Liza Colón-Zayas, and Severance’s Tramell Tillman have been cast in undisclosed roles.
Now, industry scooper @Majestic_ucm (via SuperHeroHype) recently shared a full list of all the characters who are expected to appear in Spider-Man 4. It’s just a rumor at this time, so we can’t bank on any of it, but it is pretty interesting.
The list states that Colón-Zayas will definitely be playing a police captain in the film, while Sink and Tillman — both of whom receive an “actor/actress confirmed, character not” disclaimer — may have been cast as Jean Grey and William Metzger.
It further includes “Angourie Rice as Betty Brant, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, Eman Esfandi as Harry Osborn or Paul (maybe? We don’t know if it’s actually Paul), Kiernan Shipka as Gwen Stacy (We only know that a Russian forum leaked a picture of her and Peter Parker in a laundromat), Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.
“There’s also Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop (cameo), Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan (cameo), Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, unknown actor as Robbie Robertson, unknown actor as Rhino, unknown actor as Boomerang (confirmed), unknown actor as Ramrod, The Hand (confirmed), unknown actor as Tarantula (confirmed), unknown actor as 8-Ball, unknown actor as Frederick Foswell, unknown actor as The Enforcers, unknown actor as The Chameleon, and unknown actor as The Jackal.”
The post concludes, “Many of these characters will probably be cameos, so even though the movie might seem overloaded, it won’t be. I think at least half of these characters will have no more than 5 minutes of screen time.”
Who knows how any of this will pan out? Rumors are pretty hit or miss in the world of superhero movies, so we will just have to wait and see.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives on July 31, 2026.
