Rupert Grint, Daisy Ridley, Sam Claflin and Charlie Murphy Join the Cast of EBENEZER: CHRISTMAS CAROL Starring Johnny Depp

Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Sam Claflin (Me Before You), Charlie Murphy (Happy Valley), Daisy Ridley (Star Wars), Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and Ellie Bamber (Willow) have joined the cast of Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, Paramount‘s new take on the classic Charles Dickens tale with Johnny Depp starring in the title role. Ti West (X, Pearl) is directing from a script adapted by Nathanial Helpern (Tales From the Loop, Legion). Andrea Riseborough, Ian McKellen and Tramell Tillman have also signed on to star.

The story has seen its fair share of retellings over the years with its tale of an elderly miser visited by the ghost of his former business partner and the spirits of Christmas Past, Christmas Present and Christmas Yet to Come.

This also marks the second Christmas Carol pic announced this year after Warner Bros put in development an adaptation from Robert Eggers with Willem Dafoe in line to play Scrooge.

The Depp version, a thrilling ghost story set in Dickens’ London, follows one man’s supernatural journey to face his past, present and future and fight for a second chance. While not confirmed, sources say Grint will play Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s selfless employee. It is unknown who the others will be playing.

Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol is set to be released on November 13, 2026.
