Russo Bros. Attached to Syfy's Series Adaptation of Image Comics' DEADLY CLASS

The brothers behind some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's best films are working on a pilot for NBC Universal's cable network, Syfy.

THR reports the cable network has ordered a pilot for the adaptation of the graphic novel Deadly ClassThe project is based on the Image Comics title from co-creators Rick Remender and Wes Craig and follows a teen that has been recruited into a high school for assassins. He tries to hold to his morals while trying to survive a ruthless curriculum, and deadly clans that attend the same school. Set in the late 1980s, the drama is described as a unique coming-of-age journey.

Remender and Miles Feldsott adapted Deadly Class for the small screen. Joe and Anthony Russo (The Avengers, Captain America) will executive produce the pilot. Lee Toland Krieger (The Age of Adaline) will direct.

Deadly Class is just one pilot on Syfy's list of impressive projects, among them the Tremors reboot as well as The Purge, which is based on the film franchise and is set to air on both USA and Syfy.

Syfy, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is doubling down on science-fiction programming.
