RWBY Has Been Acquired by Viz Media and New Content Is in the Works

Earlier this year Warner Bros shut down the production company Rooster Teeth, and one of their most popular projects was the original anime series RWBY.

The series launched in 2013 and ran for nine seasons. It also spawned a couple of spinoffs and two films that saw the heroines teaming up with DC's Justice League.

Fans will be happy to learn that the popular series has been acquired by Viz Media and the creative minds behind RWBY have confirmed that the series will return with new projects!

Co-creator of RWBY Kerry Shawcross shared in a statement: "As you can tell, this is a huge opportunity to grow our audience and expand into the future.

“In talking with VIZ, they're also very excited about this. They obviously care about where the show is now, but they also care about where the show came from. And they want to make sure that we can continue this story.

“We are currently in talks with them (Viz Media) about RWBY's future, and we're very hopeful for what's to come for this beloved series."

Fan were worried that RWBY would die with Rooster Teeth, but come on, the franchise is so popular that it was only a matter of time before someone picked it up and ran with it. It’s too valuable to just let die.
