Ryan Coogler Confirms THUNDERBOLTS* Director Jake Schreier Is Helming Marvel's X-MEN Reboot

Over the last couple of months, we have heard rumblings about Jake Schreier, director of Thunderbolts*, being eyed to take on Marvel’s new X-Men reboot. Now it seems that the news is all but announced by the studio, as Black Panther director Ryan Coogler has seemingly confirmed that Schreier is officially in.

During a recent interview released by Nexus Point News, which you can watch the clip from below, Coogler was talking about his own upcoming projects, like the Ironheart series, which he is executive producing, and he was asked if he would be directing the X-Men movie.

He quickly responded, saying, “No, Jake is directing that.” The interviewer made sure to clarify, “Jake Schreier?,” and he affirmed the question.

This makes perfect sense. Thunderbolts* was a huge hit for Marvel, and they’d like to keep things moving in that direction, especially for a movie with such a huge new cast and major potential for sequels and merchandising.

Check out the clip below, and stay tuned for updates on X-Men as it moves forward.
