Ryan Gosling Rumored to Be in Talks With Kevin Feige About Joining the MCU
A new rumor is floating around that says Ryan Gosling has been in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The two-time Oscar-nominated actor, fresh off his portrayal as Ken in Barbie, the biggest movie of the year, has his pick of roles these days, as one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood, and he may just be adding Marvel to his lineup of upcoming projects.
According to insider Daniel Richtman (via Patreon/CBM), Gosling has met with MCU boss Kevin Feige about potentially coming aboard the MCU. The report doesn’t say the actor is officially in talks, and Richtman doesn't mention any specific heroes or villains, but word is that they may be discussing more than one character.
This is just a rumor for now, but Gosling did recently part ways with Universal and Blumhouse's Wolf Man, which he's been attached to for over three years. This could be a coincidence, but it could also mean Gosling stepped away from the project because he has lined something up with Marvel.
Gosling was one of the many names rumored to be in line to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, but while he’s no longer tied to this, he might just be in talks to play a different character.
Gosling hasn't seemed super pumped about the prospect of playing a superhero or joining the MCU in past interviews, though he did mention Ghost Rider as one character he might be interested in playing if the opportunity were to arise.
He also appeared to be a little more open to the idea while doing press for The Russo Bros.' The Gray Man last year.
Gosling said of working with the Russos:
“I think they felt my Kenergy. They must have felt it before I did. I hope they can manifest this MCU thing. I think that would be cool.”
It really sounds like Gosling has changed his tune. Which character would you like to see Ryan Gosling play in the MCU?
