Ryan Gosling Says of His Upcoming Film BARBIE, It's the "Best Script I've Ever Read"
The two-time Academy Award-nominated actor Ryan Gosling has been in some great films in his career. Some standouts include Remember the Titans, The Notebook, Half Nelson, Lars and the Real Girl, Drive, Crazy Stupid Love, The Ides of March, The Big Short, The Nice Guys, La La Land, Blade Runner 2049, and his newest film, The Gray Man. It’s always interesting to hear what movies big stars think are their best, and with a lineup like that, it seems like it would be hard to choose. But the actor recently revealed what he believes is the best script out of the bunch, and it’s pretty surprising.
In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Gosling made a pretty bold claim about his upcoming movie Barbie, stating that the film has the "best script I've ever read."
Gosling also recently revealed to Variety that he hopes for all Kens to feel seen after watching Barbie, saying:
"This has been coming my whole life. I think a lot of Kens will feel seen when they see this. Gotta do it for the Kens of the world. Nobody plays with Kens!"
I feel like Gosling is acting a lot more serious about this role just for fun. But best case scenario is that he is right, and it turns out this is his greatest movie to date. Barbie will be directed by Greta Gerwig, with a script she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. Margot Robbie is starring in and executive producing the film, which she has long been involved with. Barbie is set to be released in theaters on July 21, 2023.
