Ryan Gosling Teases One of the Most Fun Scenes He's Ever Done in STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER

There’s still a lot we don’t know about Star Wars: Starfighter, but Ryan Gosling just teased a small, intriguing detail that will spark some curiosity amoung fans.

While promoting the film, Gosling shared a story about one particular moment on set that clearly stuck with him, and it involves a creature that wasn’t even supposed to matter all that much.

During an interview with BBC Radio, Gosling was asked about memorable props and souvenirs from his past projects. Instead of going the obvious route, he pivoted to his experience working on Starfighter and teased a scene that sounds like it might steal the show.

“There is a thing that happened on Star Wars—I’m going to have to tread carefully—but I went to the creature shop early to see everything that they were building so that I could find ways to interact with them in the film because I didn’t want them to just be going by in the background,” Gosling said.

“And I found one very special one that was meant to be background, and I asked if I could have a scene [with it], and it ended up being one of the most fun scenes I’ve ever done.”

That’s a fun little peek into how Gosling approached the role. Instead of treating the creatures like set dressing, he actively looked for ways to bring them into the story.

And it gets better. Gosling revealed: “As my wrap present, they made me a model. And so I have it in my house now, and if we weren’t being filmed, I would tell you the story about that, because it was fun.”

So somewhere out there, Gosling has a mysterious Star Wars creature sitting in his house, tied to a scene we know nothing about yet.

Details on the story are still mostly locked down, but we do know that Starfighter takes place about five years after The Rise of Skywalker and centers on Gosling’s character alongside a younger companion played by Flynn Gray. That setup opens the door for a fresh corner of the galaxy, separate from the Skywalker saga but still connected to its aftermath.

The cast includes Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams. With Shawn Levy directing from a script by Jonathan Tropper, the project has a creative team that knows how to balance character-driven storytelling with big spectacle.

Star Wars: Starfighter is one of those projects where even the smallest behind-the-scenes detail adds to the anticipation. If Gosling’s mystery creature scene is as fun as he says, we might be in for something pretty special when the film hits theaters on May 28, 2027.
