Ryan Gosling's GHOST RIDER Release Date Revealed, Becoming the Third Marvel Movie Set for 2028 + More New Release Dates

Disney has revealed a release date for Marvel’s Ghost Rider starring Ryan Gosling as the title character. The film will be the studio’s summer blockbuster — set for July 28, 2028, right in the middle of what is shaping up to be a solid year for Marvel fans. Black Panther III is set for December 15, 2028, while the as-yet untitled X-Men movie comes out on May 5, 2028.

The titles were part of a large number of release updates made by the company in the wake of last weekend’s fan event D23. An untitled Marvel movie was also announced as scheduled for November 9, 2029; it was previously referred to only as an untitled Disney Movie.

The Ghost Rider movie is directed by Shawn Levy and written by Star Wars: Starfighter screenwriter Jonathan Tropper. Gosling takes over the role of the Spirit of Vengeance after Nicholas Cage played the motorcycle rider in two movies for Sony.

Other release date announcements include Pixar’s Ghost Market, which will be released on March 10, 2028. The animated film is inspired by Asian myths of stores where the living and dead interact, and was originally set to be a streaming series before it was set as a theatrical release.

Coco 2 is set for November 21, 2029. At D23, fans got a first look at the film’s central character Miguel, who is now a teenager. Benjamin Bratt reprises his role as Ernesto de la Cruz.

A live-action remake of Tangled will be released on March 31, 2028, and the animated movie Clay is set for November 22, 2028.

The Searchlight horror film Monitor, which was previously set for April 30, 2027, and is now moved up to April 16. Matt Black and Ryan Polly direct the story of a demonic entity that stalks message board moderators.
