Ryan Murphy Has Revealed His Star-Studded Lineup of Projects He Is Developing for Netflix

Ryan Murphy is the writer and director of so many great things, it’s kind of hard to believe. He is the mastermind behind Glee, American Horror Story, American Crime Story, 9-1-1, The Normal Heart, Pose, and so many more. It’s pretty awesome the quality of TV and film he has put out, and now we have a whole new batch of series coming our way from Murphy with a slate of content he is bringing to Netflix.

Deadline reports that along with the previously reported adaptation of the Broadway musical The Prom, starring Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, Murphy is also adapting another classic Broadway musical hit – A Chorus Line – into a ten-episode mini-series. He is also creating a mini-series based on the famous designer Halston, with Ewan McGregor starring in the role.

He is also creating a ten-part miniseries based on the pop-art icon Andy Warhol, as well as a project called A Secret Love, based on a true story about a closeted lesbian couple who came out in their 80s. These are the new series he hasn’t started work on yet, but they are in the works.

The projects that are complete or in the process include the series The Politician, starring Ben Platt (Pitch Perfect) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Iron Man), which is set to premiere on September 27th. We are also set to get the One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest prequel Ratchet starring Sarah Paulson (Glass, American Horror Story). This is finishing up, and we should have a date soon.

We also have Hollywoodstarring Patti LuPone (Pose) and Holland Taylor (Legally Blonde), which is set to premiere in May 2020, and is reportedly about, “Hollywood and the sex industry, and how absolutely everything has changed and nothing has changed.”

Finally, Murphy is set to team up with another AHS alum, Jessica Lange, chronicling Hollywood legend Marlene Dietrich’s life in Las Vegas in the early ’60s. This is somewhere in the future, but we don’t know how or when just yet. Murphy is sorta busy to say the least. But man, what a lineup! What are you most excited about?
