Ryan Reynolds Addresses the DEADPOOL in DOCTOR STRANGE 2 Rumors
This week has been full of rumors involving Ryan Reynolds’ character Deadpool and his official crossover into the MCU via the upcoming film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A recently released poster for the film held what some fans believed to be an Easter egg for Reynolds' Merc With a Mouth. A close-up shot at a shattered piece of glass featured a character that looked very similar to Deadpool, but it’s fuzzy and not a sure thing.
Another rumor was started after Reynolds posted a sort of dressing room photo of him in his Deadpool getup, surrounded by costumers. He deleted the picture, but a screenshot was shared, claiming that one of the costume designers behind him is a woman who is working on the Doctor Strange sequel. While this may be true, it’s entirely possible that this woman, in an attempt to pay her bills, may have worked on more than one film.
Now, Ryan Reynolds himself has weighed in on the rumors, telling Variety at a special screening of his Netflix sci-fi movie, The Adam Project:
"I'm really not in the movie. I'm promising, I'm not in the movie."
Could he be a lying liar? It’s possible. Andrew Garfield said these same words about Spider-Man: No Way Home, and we all know how that played out. But who knows? Reynolds did give an update on Deadpool 3, stating, "It's coming along," and while that’s not a great update, at least we know they’re working on it.
So what’s your opinion? Do you think we will see Deadpool in the MCU sooner, or later?
