Ryan Reynolds’ DEADPOOL Will Reportedly Have His Own Team in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY

Ryan Reynolds is officially back as Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday, and a new report claims he will be leading a team of his own.

With members of the original X-Men cast locked in, the multiverse door is wide open for a crossover on Earth-10005, which is the same reality that Deadpool calls home, and where Monica Rambeau ended up at the end of The Marvels.

So where does Wade Wilson fit in when Earth-616’s Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men collide? A reliable source, runtime leaker @Cryptic4KQual, shared this piece of intel:

"[Deadpool] has his own team now, and he's still probably going to fold into a bigger one. F*ck the Avengers."

As for who’s rolling with him? The most likely candidates are Wolverine, X-23, Blade, Elektra, and Gambit, setting up a reunion of sorts after their team-up in Deadpool & Wolverine. There’s also speculation this could be the big-screen version of X-Force, a project Reynolds has reportedly been helping develop behind the scenes.

Even if Deadpool has his squad, the rumor suggests that team will eventually merge into a bigger group, most likely the X-Men.

Reynolds has always been open about where he believes Deadpool fits into Marvel’s world, saying: "I don’t think he should ever be an Avenger or an X-Man," Reynolds said. "If he becomes either, we’re at the end."

He doubled down on that idea when asked if he’d decline Avengers: Doomsday, Secret Wars, or a future X-Men reboot, saying:

"Just the opposite! I think Deadpool works so well appearing with the X-Men and Avengers, but he always needs to stay an outsider. His ultimate dream is to be accepted and appreciated. But he can’t be accepted."

He added: "His coping mechanism of deflecting shame through humor works only when used to pave over his many inadequacies. If and when he does become an Avenger or X-Man, we’re at the end of his journey."

So, Deadpool may fight beside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but don’t expect him to sign up for official membership anytime soon.

The Russo Brothers are back in the director’s chairs, working from a script by Stephen McFeely, with Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron also contributing.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
