Ryan Reynolds Releases New Art For DEADPOOL 2, And It's A Masterpiece
As the film community continues to reel from the Disney acquisition of Fox, Ryan Reynolds is continuing to pimp out Deadpool 2. Reynolds uploaded this new piece of art (pictured above) which recreates the portion of the Sistine Chapel that shows God giving life to Adam. While you may not think there's a lot more to this than an homage, let's give this thing a closer look.
For starters, it looks like Cable is coming out of a time-traveling portal, which falls in line with his character. That said, that's an aspect of his character I almost expected the writing team to change given what a cluster-fuck the X-Men continuity is!
Second, the teddy bear is back. We've seen it before in past promotions, but the fact that it's shown more prominently in this one would appear to indicate that the bear is in some way important to the story. We don't really know exactly why yet, but Cable's holding onto it could be for him to present to his father Scott Summers to prove he is who he says he is. Considering Scott doesn't have a child in the films yet, that probably won't work, so it's always possible the bear has some other connection.
Let's just hope that with this new deal Marvel's feverishly working to put Deadpool, Cable, and the X-Men into some outrageous film together!
