Ryan Reynolds Reveals That the Original Ending of DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Saw the Demise of a Fan-Favorite Character
Since the digital release, and in preparation for the DVD and Blu-ray release of Marvel’s summer blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine, the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds, has been taking to social media to share a few fun behind-the-scenes tidbits with fans.
This week, the actor shared the original imagined ending of the film, which would have included the demise of a fan-favorite character from the franchise.
Reynolds explained: “I had ‘Like A Prayer’ in my head for the 3rd Deadpool film since 2017. Before Wolverine entered the chat, It was largely gonna be the same *single shot, motion-control sequence I’d dreamed of.
“But, my dance partner was originally COLOSSUS — who would have died in the preceding scene, launching Deadpool into a state of pure rage and revenge… all set to [Madonna’s] inspired and singular song, Like A Prayer.
“Obviously, Hugh joining changed the destiny for everyone. (And Colossus, along with his virginity, stayed intact)”
I’m so glad Wolverine joined the party. It’s a huge part of what made the movie so good! Along with the other actors, cameos, storyline, and classic Deadpool humor. I’m also glad we didn’t have to see Colossus bite the big one.
Deadpool & Wolverine is available to own on Digital, and will be available to own on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 22nd.
