Ryan Reynolds Says He Doesn't Know if There Will Be a DEADPOOL 3 and Explains Why
There's a lot of great buzz surrounding Deadpool 2 and it's looking like it's going to be another big success. I imagine it will end up being a bigger success than the first movie! With all of this optimism surrounding the film and the fact that it's setting up an X-Force movie, you'd think that a third Deadpool movie would pretty much be in the bag. But, according to Ryan Reynolds, it's not. In a recent interview with EW, he reveals that he's not sure Deadpool 3 will even happen! He explains:
"I don’t know that there would be a Deadpool 3. I really don’t. I feel like the character, in order for him to function properly within his own universe, you need to take everything away from him. I don’t think that you can keep doing that. I do see him as being a part of X-Force, obviously. I would love to see him in a team-up sort of thing, like a mano a mano or a great female character from the X-Men universe. I just think if you’re going to do another Deadpool solo film, you’ve got to really, like, get that budget down to nothing and just swing for the fences, and break all kinds of weird barriers, and do stuff that no one else can do."
Reynolds has a very interesting outlook on the character and how to play with him. The fact that he would want to strip the film's budget down to nothing to force them to be creative with the character is something you never hear from anyone in Hollywood, and that's just another reason why I love Ryan Reynolds. He's thinking outside of the box.
I hope that we do see a Deadpool 3 and if we do, I'd love to see what Reynolds and his team would do with it with a limited budget and see how crazy and inventive they would get by swinging at the fences and breaking weird barriers.
What do you all think about Reynolds' thoughts on Deadpool 3?
