Ryan Reynolds Says an Old Plot for DEADPOOL 3 Would Have Been a Road Trip Story with Wolverine
It looks like Ryan Reynolds has revealed an old plot that was being worked out for Deadpool 3 before Disney came in and bought Fox. So let’s jump right into it! The film would have seen Deadpool and Wolverine on a road trip adventure together! Reynolds shared in a recent tweet:
“It’s critical to have open, honest and healthy discussions around mental health. By retweeting #BellLetsTalk you can make a difference. In case that’s not enough, before Disney bought Fox, Deadpool 3 was gonna be a road trip between Deadpool and Logan. Rashomon style. For real.”
Damn! We totally missed out on something that would have been an insanely awesome film, and it would have been a huge hit! Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Logan teaming up for a Rashomon-style road trip story is pure magic.
Now while we know that Reynolds is currently developing Deadpool 3 with Marvel Studios, this won’t be what we see. Reynolds wouldn’t share this information if it was.
For those of you not familiar with what a Rashomon-style story is, it’s where the same event is recounted by several characters, and the stories differ in ways that are impossible to reconcile. It shows that two or more people can view the same event quite differently.
It’s a bloody shame that we won’t get to see this version of Deadpool 3, but regardless, I’m confident that Marvel and Reynolds will come up with something that the fans are going to love.
