Ryan Reynolds Shares Cut Action Sequence From DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE in Which the Stars Tried a "Fastball Special"

From the beginning planning stages of Deadpool 3 to the end product we saw in Deadpool & Wolverine, there were a lot of ideas and scenes that didn’t make the final cut. There were so many comic stories and Easter Eggs to work with, that simply put, not everything would fit, and fans are curious about a few of them.

When asked on X if the film’s creators ever considered a “fastball special,” Reynolds actually confirmed that one was filmed, but it didn’t make the cut.

For context, this is a famous tag-team move in Super Hero fiction where one super-strong hero literally throws a teammate toward a target. The maneuver first appeared in X-Men #100, when Wolverine had Colossus hurl him in a battle. It quickly became a favorite tactic of the two heroes, and was practiced by other characters as well.

Reynolds shared the cut scene in a short clip, with the note, “A few people asked if we were tempted to try a ‘Fastball Special’. The answer is yes. Except instead of throwing Deadpool or Wolvie, we chucked this guy… it didn’t make the cut, sadly. #FastBallSpecial @RealHughJackman
