Ryan Reynolds Teases a Brand New Deadpool Suit for AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY at Comic-Con
Marvel Studios packed Hall H with surprises during its San Diego Comic-Con panel, but one of the biggest crowd-pleasers came courtesy of Ryan Reynolds, who made a hilarious entrance to tease what’s next for Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday.
It wasn’t just another comedy bit either. Reynolds also gave fans their first look at a brand-new version of Deadpool’s suit, and it definitely caught everyone’s attention.
As Marvel was bringing the Avengers: Doomsday cast on stage and answering questions about the highly anticipated crossover, a mysterious figure in a grey Deadpool suit wandered up looking for a microphone.
After fumbling around for a moment, the masked merc revealed he already had one. Of course, it was Reynolds under the mask and the crowd instantly exploded.
It was one of those classic Comic-Con moments where everyone knew exactly what was happening, and Hall H completely erupted.
Reynolds stayed in character the entire time, delivering exactly the kind of humor fans have come to expect from the Merc with a Mouth.
Deadpool had two very important questions. First, he reminded everyone that he’s still waiting for an answer to one of the biggest lingering mysteries from Deadpool & Wolverine.
“I still want to know why Thor was crying.”
He then turned his attention to Avengers: Doomsday itself, jokingly asking when filming was finally going to begin.
It was a short appearance, but it landed perfectly. Watching Reynolds work a room full of thousands of Marvel fans is always entertaining, and Hall H fed right into the energy.
The biggest reveal, though, may have been the costume itself. Instead of Deadpool’s familiar red-and-black look, Reynolds showed up wearing a grey version of the suit, teasing that Wade Wilson will be sporting a fresh look when he returns in Avengers: Doomsday.
Marvel didn’t offer any explanation for the costume change, which naturally has fans already throwing theories around online.
We already know Reynolds is returning as Deadpool in Doomsday, and reports continue to circulate that he’s also developing a fourth Deadpool movie, although Marvel hasn’t shared any official details about that project.
Marvel Studios released the following synopsis for Avengers: Doomsday:
“Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday.
“Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.
“This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
Seeing Reynolds finally join that massive lineup should make for some incredible interactions, especially if Deadpool gets the chance to annoy just about everyone on the roster.
After the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, it’ll be a lot of fun to see Wade dropped into an even bigger Marvel playground.
More than anything, this Comic-Con appearance reminded everyone why Marvel loves bringing surprises to Hall H.
Reynolds knows exactly how to work the audience, and watching thousands of fans go absolutely bonkers over a simple Deadpool entrance made for one of the most entertaining moments of the panel.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
