Ryan Reynolds Tells Fans Not to Panic Over a PG-13 DEADPOOL Movie

Earlier this week, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds said that he was still fighting for an R-rated Deadpool movie. That's something the fans really want to see happen, but knowing 20th Century Fox, I seriously doubt that is going to happen. The actor's most recent Tweets on the Deadpool rating seem to suggest that he's loosing his battle with the studio and that the film is most likely going to be rated PG-13. The actor tells the fans not to panic, though!

This is what he had to say earlier today:

#deadpool - So we make the blood green. (Views expressed here are mine - not necessarily those of adorable, taint-punchers releasing films)

He then adds:

A PG-13 #deadpool will still have 4th wall breaking, a shit-ton of action and at least 3 chimichangas. Zero need to panic. I promise.

Of course fans are going to panic. It's just in our nature. At the same time, we don't see the fans panicking or complaining about the PG-13 Wolverine movies, and Wolverine is a hard R-rated character, as well.

I think once we start seeing more images and actual footage from the film, the excitement for the movie will explode, even if it's slapped with a PG-13 rating. Director Tim Miller is currently shooting the movie, and there won't be an official rating until the MPAA gets their dirty little hands on it.

Deadpool also stars Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, and Ed Skrein. It will hit theaters on February 12th, 2016.
