Ryan Reynolds Won't Be Doing His Own Stunts In DEADPOOL 2 and He Explains Why
Ryan Reynolds is the main reason Deadpool was such a smash hit for audiences in 2016, not only did he portray the merc with the mouth, but he also did some of the stunts in the film.
Now Reynolds says he is scaling way back on doing his own stunts after suffering some pretty serious injuries. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Reynolds said:
"I've had some bad injuries doing stunts. I broke a couple of vertebrae in my neck. It was a bad situation. I remember the doctor sitting in the office - it was about the seventh time I had been there that year - and he writes on a prescription pad, rips off the note and it reads 'Stuntman'. Point taken. So now I use four different guys that come with me."
Considering his character is masked the majority of the time, it shouldn't be an issue that Reynolds won't be doing his own stunts on Deadpool 2.
Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Reynolds is joined by a cast including: Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Zazie Beetz (Domino), Josh Brolin (Cable/Nathan Summers), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Leslie Uggams (Blind AL), Julian Dennison, and Stefan Kapičić (Colossus).
Deadpool 2 is set to hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
