Sacha Baron Cohen Asks Dick Cheney To Sign Waterboard Kit In Clip From His New Showtime Series WHO IS AMERICA?
Sacha Baron Cohen is back with a new interview series for Showtime. The mystery series is called Who is America? and it's been secretly shooting for the past year. The comedy interview series seems to be in the same vein as the Da Ali G Show, which is what launched Baron Cohen's career.
There's a been a good amount of marketing teasing the new series recently. Vulture reported on posters for the upcoming series popping up in New York City which read, "You’ve been warned." They also offered a glimpse at Baron Cohen’s new character, peeking out from behind American flags and wearing different kinds of eyewear.
Then there was a promo video posted on Twitter that teased the project that showed Donald Trump talking crap about Baron Cohen. Then there were some cryptic videos that said the show was "perhaps the most dangerous show in the history of television."
The most recent promo video is a clip from the series that starts out with the following tease, "Imagine if Sacha Baron Cohen had been undercover secretly filming a new show for a year." Then it shows Baron Cohen asking former Vice President Dick Cheney to sign a waterboard torture kit, which he does!
Baron Cohen has always been good at ruffling feathers and starting controversy, and there's no doubt that this new series of his is going to do that. Who is America? premieres on Showtime on July 15, 2018. Check out three of the promo videos below...
