Sacha Baron Cohen is Set To Star in a New Netflix Series Called THE SPY
Sacha Baron Cohen (Da Ali G Show, Borat, Hugo) is set to star in a new Netflix limited series called The Spy. While Cohen is mostly known for taking on comedic roles, this is more of a dramatic series.
The Spy tells the story of Eli Cohen, "a spy for Israel in Syria in the early 1960s. Cohen managed to embed himself into Syrian high society and rise through the ranks of their politics. His actions, connections, ultimately his death have had lasting consequences, shaping the Middle East as it is today."
It seems like it's been a long time since I've seen Cohen in anything. The most recent thing he was a part of was the Netflix special Seth Rogen’s Hilarity for Charity. The last movie that I remember seeing him in was the spy comedy The Brothers Grimsby opposite Mark Strong.
The Spy will consist of six-episodes and it will be interesting to see Cohen in a role like this because it's different from anything that he's done before.
