Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G Confirmed to Return for Stand-Up Comedy Tour

Last month a report surfaced saying that Sacha Baron Cohen would be bringing back his hilarious character Ali G in some kind of project. Well, it was just confirmed that Baron Cohen will return as Ali G for a stand-up comedy tour.

There were rumors and speculation about a possible film but according to the report, a source close to Baron Cohen “strenuously denied a new movie was in development, however, noting that the writer and actor is strictly abiding by strike rules. ‘As a SAG and WGA member he is supporting the ongoing strike alongside his fellow writers and actors.’”

Ali G is such a funny character, and it will be fun to see him back in action even if it’s not for a new series or film. There’s no doubt fans will enjoy watching his live stand-up show.

In 2021 the comedian resurrected Ali G during a secret gig at The Comedy Store in Sydney, Australia. He said: “I just wanted to get on stage and muck around and see what Ali G would be like with a crowd. It was really good fun.”

Baron Cohen first appeared as Ali G in 1998 on a sketch series called The 11 O’Clock Show. This year he celebrates his 25th anniversary. He then went on to launch Da Ali G Show in 2000 and that ran for three seasons on Channel 4 and later on HBO.
