Sadie Sink Reveals Her Interpretation of Eleven's Fate in STRANGER THINGS Finale

Sadie Sink’s Stranger Things character Max Mayfield entered the storyline in season 2. After almost losing her to Vecna in the season 4 finale, her return in season 5 was triumphant, and she battled alongside the Hawkins crew to the bitter end.

The finale showed a glimpse into the future for many of the main cast members, but it left the fate of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) up in the air.

With fans divided about whether Eleven gave her life, or was able to escape to a picturesque locale, aside from Brown and the show’s creators, not even the cast members know her ending for sure. But Sink is weighing in, and her opinion goes against the grain.

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, which you can check out below, Fallon asked Sink what she believed happened to Eleven.

She looked around the room nervously before responding, “I think she’s dead. I don’t know.” The audience gave a mix of gasps and groans. Sink then asked if that was a “hot take,” which Fallon confirmed, adding that he also believed Eleven dies.

She went on to give more context, stating, “I think, like, Mike’s story is like just one last story. And that’s like…then they say goodbye to childhood. But that’s just one final tale, and that’s it. I think it’s just like a coping thing.”

Sink believed that her take on Eleven’s fate made its emotional impact “stronger.” Fallon said that Eleven’s fate was open to interpretation, to which Sink replied that what she said was her interpretation.

I really think Mike was on to something, and I think a his rationalization of what he saw made sense. But I loved the ending, and I respect the cast having their own ideas of what really went down. Stranger Things is available to watch in its entirety on Netflix.
