SALLY FACE Launches On Kickstarter With New Tabletop Adaptation

Sally Face, the hit indie game from Portable Moose, has launched a Kickstarter for a new tabletop version of the game titled Sally Face: Strange Nightmares. Maestro Media have teamed up with Brand Central and Steve Gabry, the game designer behind Portable Moose, to help bring this virtual universe into the real world.

Sally Face: Strange Nightmares is a cooperative adventure mystery game as you would expect. Play as the iconic characters from the game as they investigate the mysteries plaguing their home and town. You’ll need to work quickly though as the corruption is taking over and you need to stop it before it consumes everything. With multiple variable storylines to play through, this hopefully will not be a play once kind of game.

Like the video game, the tabletop version will be played across multiple chapters with each one presenting their own unique mysteries and challenges. Each chapter will present a new game set up and victory conditions to help ensure that the game does not become repetitive to players. It sounds like it should be a really fun game especially for fans of the video game. I haven’t personally played Sally Face, but this tabletop version sounds really fun. It reminds me a little bit of Mansions of Madness but less complicated and an overarching story between games. Given the original source material, this is probably not a game for the faint hearted.

There will also of course be some kickstarter exclusive goodies including vinyl figures, apparel and home decor, original music and more. Included in the continued expansion of the Sally Face universe will be a subscription mystery box program, Sally Face: Strange Boxes with limited edition apparel, merchandise and items featuring collaborations with well known artists within the gaming, comic and indie realms, all intertwined with an immersive mystery game with clues that need to be solved every month.

All in all, this sounds like a really cool Kickstarter. If you are a fan of the video game, I highly recommend checking it out.
