Sam Neill Joins Annette Bening in Upcoming Peacock Series APPLES NEVER FALL
A new series is being adapted at Peacock titled Apples Never Fall, and it is based on the book of the same name by writer Liane Moriarty, who penned the novels behind the hit series Big Little Lies at HBO, and Nine Perfect Strangers at Hulu. Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) has joined the limited series, and he will star opposite previously announced cast member Annette Bening (American Beauty, Death On the Nile).
Per the official logline, the series “centers on the Delaneys, who from the outside appear to be an enviably contented family. Former tennis coaches Joy (Bening) and Stan (Neill) are parents to four adult children. After decades of marriage, they have finally sold their famed tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives. But after Joy disappears, her children are forced to re-examine their parents’ marriage and their family history with fresh eyes.”
Melanie Marnich will adapt the book for the screen and will also serve as executive producer and showrunner. David Heyman will executive produce via Heyday Television. Moriarty is also an executive producer along with Albert Page and Jillian Share. Chris Sweeney will executive produce and direct multiple episodes, including the first.
I am a huge fan of Moriarty’s books and her adapted series so far. I am looking forward to another one of her thrilling stories to hit the screen. Her books The Husband’s Secret, and Truly Madly Guilty are each also in development, with Blake Lively attached to star in The Husband’s Secret.
