Sam Raimi and Fede Alvarez Reteam for Thriller A MAN IN THE DARK
Sam Raimi and Fede Alvarez are teaming up again for a new film project. Unfortunately, it's not for Evil Dead 2, but it does sound like it will be something cool and promising. Alvarez previously directed and co-wrote the screenplay for the Evil Dead remake, which, surprisingly, I enjoyed immensely.
The new film that Alvarez is set to direct is called A Man in the Dark, which Raimi is attached to produce. The press release came along with the following plot summary:
In A MAN IN THE DARK, three teens who get away with perfectly planned home robberies have set their sights on one last payout that will get them out of crime forever. Their target: a reclusive blind man with millions of dollars in hiding. But as soon as they break into his home, the tables are turned and they find themselves trapped and fighting for survival against a psychopath with secrets of his own.
This movie sounds like it has potential. It's not really an original plot, but the filmmakers have the talent to make it their own and give us a movie that we'll enjoy. I love what they did with the Evil Dead remake together, so I'm looking forward to see how this upcoming project turns out.
