Sam Raimi in Talks to Direct Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS
Sam Raimi, the director who helped usher comic book films into the mainstream with Spider-Man, is in talks to direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness for Marvel Studios!
I’ve been a fan of Sam Raimi’s since I first saw Darkman. After that, I introduced myself to the Evil Dead films, and I’ve been hooked ever since. A couple of years after Darkman he released Army of Darkness, which was an incredible moviegoing experience! Over the years he’s also made The Quick and the Dead, A Simple Plan, and Drag Me To Hell.
If Raimi makes a deal, he will replace original Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson, who is still attached as an executive producer on the project. I’m actually excited that Raimi could end up directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness! I think he’s a great fit for the franchise and could end up doing some great things with the sequel, especially with his fun horror filmmaking style.
I know that Oz the Great and Powerful wasn’t his best work, but for the most part, he has a solid resume of great films! Spider-Man 2 is still one of my favorite Spider-Man movies, so that fact that he might get to work on a new Marvel project like Doctor Strange is awesome!
I really hope I’m not the only one who feels like this, but Sam Raimi has my support on this!
