Sam Raimi Set to Produce a New Horror Film Based on a Spooky Short Film Called BEHIND

It’s awhile since we’ve seen a Sam Raimi movie! He hasn’t directed a feature film since Oz The Great and Powerful, but he’s currently attached to direct a couple of films that will hopefully get off the ground. I miss Sam Raimi movies! But he’s set to produce a new horror movie called Behind, which is based on a creepy short film.

The short film was directed by Angel Gomez, who is also attached to direct the feature, with Zak Olkewicz on board to write the script. Raimi will produce through his Ghost House Pictures banner alongside Robert Tapert. Lionsgate will distribute the film.

The story centers on “a woman going through a divorce who comes to fear that she will lose her baby daughter. When a mysterious lady at a party tells her that she is being followed, what seems at first like a delusion turns into a terrifying nightmare as the woman does everything she can to save her little one from evil.”

Yeah, that sounds like the kind of horror movie that Raimi would want to be a part of! He may not be directing the film, but I’m sure his influence will be felt in the movie. Raimi is currently developing The Kingkiller Chronicle and a movie called World War 3.

I’ve included the short film for you to watch below:

A short film written and directed by Ángel Gómez Hernández. 55 INTERNATIONAL AWARDS. MORE THAN 530 NOMINATIONS AND SCREENINGS. 2016.
