Sam Raimi To Produce a Destination Wedding-Themed Horror Movie

Sam Rami has jumped on board a new horror movie project that he will produce. The movie is set up at Screen Gems and it comes from writer Blair Butler, who was behind the silly slasher horror movie Hell Fest.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but THR does explain that “the project is known to be a supernatural thriller that tells of a young woman who is invited to a lavish destination wedding, unaware of the horrors that await.”

That sounds like it could be a fun movie. After seeing Hell Fest, I can only imagine the kind of bloody and crazy insanity that is in store for this wedding. For the most part I enjoy the films that come from Raimi and his Ghost House Pictures. They always manage to entertain.

Raimi will be joined by his producing partner Robert Tapert and Emile Gladstone, one of the producers behind the upcoming horror thriller The Curse of La Llorona.

Butler is also currently working on a film called The Steps for Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures. It’s described as a twist on the possession genre.
